The American Hackney Horse Society began the Open Competition Awards Program in 2003 to honor and acknowledge the achievements of Hackney horses and ponies across the USA who compete in events against other breeds. The divisions include: In Hand, English Pleasure, Hunter/Jumper, Dressage, Carriage Driving, Coaching, Combined Driving Events, Combined Training (Eventing), Competitive Trail Riding/Driving and Junior Exhibitors. Plaques are awarded to the Champion and Reserve Champion of each division. Certificates and ribbons are awarded for third through sixth place. For more information
