Norfolk Parader of Maple Hill x Reflection's Black Orchid Phantom is a true black gelding, 16.0hh He is an all around "fun" horse who loves to drive, jump and trail ride/drive. In fact there is little he does not like to do!
Allison Lokey and Phantom surprise many people with the jumping ability of the Hackney. He demonstrates wonderful scope and power over fences. He tends to be a show stopper, commanding everyone's attention. We commonly hear "Oh my God, look at that black horse!!" from the rail.
As you can see from the above photos, he has NO difficulty clearing fences. We knew he was destined to become a jumper when he jumped over the manure spreader (just because it was there) at the age of 2. The highest fence he has taken so far was 5 feet, occurred due to "pilot error" on the part of his rider <VBG>, but he cleared it by several inches from an impressive angle.
Phantom displays wonderful suspension and reach in his natural gait. He is more reminiscent of the Hackney of old.
Phantom was trained for Carriage Driving by the talented Jeff Morse of Pittsfield, MA. He has been very successful at carriage shows. Judges consistently comment on his wonderful ability to lengthen the trot stride. We have attended several clinics with Olaf Nyby, of Norway, to learn the skills necessary for Combined Driving. Phantom loves cones and hazards as much as he loves jumping. Click here to view Phantom's extended pedigree. |
